A Balanced Curriculum

Aligned with New York State (NYS) standards our Physical Education (P.E) curriculum will be part of a holistic and balanced physical, health, and wellness education. Teaching children how to respect, develop, and take care of their physical health is just as important as teaching academic content.

With this philosophy in mind, students will have:

  1. PE class (based on Physical Best, a comprehensive health-related fitness education program that focuses on each child’s individual preferences and capabilities)1
  2. Music & Movement activities based on the Dalcroze Eurhythmics method, where students will gain physical awareness and experience of music through training that engages all of the senses, particularly kinesthetic, and develops gross motor skills2
  3. Organized playtime with games and activities during recess
